Little orphan Annie uses equal measures of pluck and positivity to charm everyone's hearts, despite starting with next-to-nothing in 1930s New York City.

Annie is determined to find her parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan.

With the help of other girls in the orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous and magical world of New York City.

In adventure after adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations and befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. She finds a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

The cast is comprised of 40 children, 20 adults and one dog -- Nestle as Sandy.

Ticket sales for Annie began Monday. Tickets can be purchased at the NPCP box office Monday-Friday from noon-5 p.m., online at www.northplattecommunityplayhouse.com or at the door prior to any performance. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for children and students.

Six performances will be presented -- April 4, 5, 6, 11, 12 and 13. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m.

The production is directed by Scott Carlson and John Hales. The music is directed by Donna Pucket.

Annie is produced through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International, and is made possible, in part, by the support of the Nebraska Arts Council and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment of the Arts.
