(Broken Bow) - An investigation into the death of a 20-month old boy in November led to charges Tuesday against two Broken Bow women of second degree murder and child abuse leading to the death of a child.
Young Noah J. Pryce of Broken Bow was injured Nov. 17 and taken by ambulance to Jennie M. Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow. He had a head injury and Broken Bow police were notified at that time that the injury was suspicious, Nebraska State Patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins said.
Pryce died Nov. 22 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, after stays at M. Melham Med Center and Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
On Nov. 24, the Nebraska State Patrol took the lead in the investigation into Pryce's death.
Collins said investigators determined that Pryce suffered a life threatening injury Nov. 17 while in the care of Brittney Pryce and Diane Hill.
Brittney Pryce and husband Richard Pryce were Noah's guardians. The child was a ward of the state, Collins said.
Imvestigators concluded that the toddler's fatal injuries occurred at the Pryce home, 1338 South E St. in Broken Bow.
Brittney Pryce, 23, and Diane Hill, 50, were charged Tuesday and taken to the Custer County Jail, Collins said.
