A unit of the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees, Inc. has been formed in North Platte.

NARVRE has represented Railroad families for 75 years. Membership is open to any person receiving, or eligible to receive Railroad Retirement Funds, be they retired, working or management.

NARVRE represents all crafts and is non-partisan. Active membership is also open to the spouse and surviving spouse of such person.

The local unit, 14, will meet at 1 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month at the Moose Lodge, 1315 East Fourth, in North Platte.

For more information, call Bill (Smitty) Smith 530-2729, or Terry Sigler 532-6041 or any NARVRE member.

NARVRE represents members' interests in Washington by protecting and preserving your railroad retirement benefits.

NARVRE will represent individuals personally when necessary on issues related to retirement benefits, without conflict of interest, organizers say.
