Prizes for the best-dressed will be awarded in the Super Hero Super 5-kilometer run/walk on April 5, a benefit for the court-appointed-child-advocacy program.

“Every child needs a hero,” organizers say. “Abused children need a super hero.”

The CASA program provides adult volunteers who advocate for the needs of the children affected by broken homes.

The race is part of the Platte River Fitness series, a series of 5-K and longer fun runs and races held throughout the year in the Platte Valley of west central Nebraska.

Register for the Super Hero run at http://www.platteriverfitness.com. The cost is $22 per runner, or $22 per family for the one-mile fun run. Registrants will also receive a tee-shirt at no extra cost.

You can also help Lincoln County CASA by becoming an advocate, joining the resource committee or joining the volunteer committee.
