St. Pat's hires two new teachersTell North Platte what you think

The North Platte St. Patrick's school board approved teaching contracts Tuesday for two incoming faculty members -- Sara Anderson and Natalie Wood.

Anderson will begin the 2014-15 school year as the high school band instructor, and Wood will fill a kindergarten teaching position at McDaid.

Superintendent Kevin Dodson said the high school math and English instructor positions at St. Pat’s are open. He is accepting applications and scheduling interviews and hopes to have the positions filled soon.

Endowment-Trust Director Wendy Dodson gave a report on the Forward in Faith campaign. Dodson said efforts are still underway to reach the $2.5 million goal. She said contacts are being made and anyone who has not yet participated in the important campaign is encouraged to do so.

Work will begin in May on the roof of the high school, after students are dismissed for the summer.

Dodson and Principal Mark Skillstad commended the Irish athletes, students, and fans for their behavior and performance at the state basketball contests in Lincoln.

The St. Pat’s girls brought home the third place trophy. The boys earned the sportsmanship award.

Also, several Irish students will go to the state speech meet later this month.

Upcoming activities on the school calendar include golf, track, Jr/Sr prom, and Easter.

The board will meet next at 7 p.m on April 15 in the St. Pat’s High School library.
