Ryan E. Walsh
Police picked up Ryan Walsh, 31, shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday morning for failure to appear in court March 10 on theft and drug charges.
Walsh was scheduled to appear in court for sentencing in the burglary of Kohler’s Trailer Sales in May 2013. When he failed to show up, Lincoln County District Judge Donald Rowlands immediately issued a warrant for his arrest.
Court records state that he entered in-patient treatment in January but then checked out without permission.
Early Thursday, a patrol officer saw Walsh park a vehicle in the 2400 block of East Second and made contact. Walsh was charged and searched. He had a backpack, and the search turned up several prescription pills (aprazolam) without a presecription. Walsh was taken to the Lincoln County jail.
At the jail, "a more thorough search turned up a plastic baggie" with a white substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, police investigator John Deal said.
Walsh was one of several North Platte men arrested last summer in connection to burglaries and drug distribution.
In other police action, Rachel Humphrey of North Platte was charged Wednesday for possession of methamphetamine.
Humphrey was first arrested in December, after a search warrant was served for stolen property and suspected methamphetamine was found.
The substance was sent to a lab and positive results were recently received. Humphrey was charged, processed and released Wednesday. She also served 21 days on a meth possession charge in August.
