Two North Platte women were jailed early Thursday morning for allegedly beating up another woman and taking her cellphone and car keys.

Jerrita Running-Enemy and Angelica Gray are in jail, each charged with robbery and assault. They are held on $150,000 bonds.

The arrests began at 4:29 a.m., when officers went to the 800 block of S. Bailey to check out a reported assault that involved several people, police investigator John Deal said.

Officers met with a woman who had visible injuries to her face. The apparent victim said at least two other women assaulted her, then took her cell phone and keys. A witness said the same, according to the police report.

As the officer talked with the alleged victim, other officers saw a suspicious vehicle leaving the area. Police stopped the vehicle and found Running-Enemy and Gray. The women matched the descriptions of the suspects that were given by the victim and witness.

Police also found the cell phone and keys inside the vehicle, Deal said.

The women were charged with third-degree assault and robbery and taken to the Lincoln County Jail.

Deal said the investigation is ongoing.
