Legislature stops Medicaid expansionTell North Platte what you think
 

After eight hours of debate over two days, LB887, also known as Medicaid expansion bill, failed to advance Wednesday in the Nebraska Legislature and was indefinitely postponed.

A measure to call the question and vote on the bill itself passed by a majority, but failed to get the required two-thirds needed.

The vote was 27-21, six votes short of the number required.

LB887 is not likely to be debated again this session, according to a report on the Unicameral website.
