The woman said she and her domestic partner got into an argument on Friday and he assaulted her, but she did not immediately report it because she thought her injuries would improve and didn’t want her domestic partner, Robert Cheever, to be arrested.

Police said the woman was visibly injured. Cheever, 44, was arrested for third-degree domestic assault. Cheever has a previous conviction of domestic assault on his record, so the arrest was enhanced to a felony and he was jailed. His bond was set at $25,000.

Duran

Officers were watching for a vehicle in which Rosendo Duran, 22, was said to be driving with a suspended operator’s license.

At approximately 12:50 a.m. Sunday, an officer saw the vehicle and, based on past contacts, identified Duran as the driver.

The officer detained Duran as he parked and started to get out of the car. He was arrested for driving under suspension.  Also, a small amount of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was in the car where Duran and his front passenger, Keith Phelps, were sitting.

Both Duran and Phelps were charged with possession of methamphetamine and jailed.

Aston

On Sunday, officers were dispatched to a home in the 2900 block of West A to check out a reported disturbance.

When they arrived, they found Tanner C. Aston, 19, was agitated and exhibiting unusual, violent behavior. Police said Aston had destroyed property in the home and scared the other residents before they arrived.

As a result of the investigation, Aston was arrested for criminal mischief and disturbing the peace. And, when he was booked at the Lincoln County jail, a prescription drug was found in the pocket of his shorts. He did not have a valid prescription, so he picked up another charge -- illegal possession of alprazolam.

Luea

Police rounded up Jonas Luea, 32, on Saturday after first contacting Luea on Nov. 18.

In November, they investigated a reported complaint that drugs were being used around a six-year-old child.  Officers found suspected drugs and paraphernalia in the house where Luea lived.

The suspected drugs were sent to the Nebraska State Patrol Laboratory for testing and children were placed under the care of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, according to the police report.

The lab results were recently returned, positively identifying methamphetamine.

At noon Saturday, an officer contacted Jonas and told him of the test results. Luea agreed to meet the officer, and at that time, he was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and processed at the Lincoln County jail.

Long

At 2:35 a.m. Saturday, an officer tried to stop a car near Sixth and Welch that was moving erratically and driving across the center of the street.

But instead of stopping for the lights and siren, the driver waved out the window. After several blocks, Brandy Long, 37, finally stopped the car, according to the police report.

Police said Long appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Field sobriety tests were conducted.

She was subsequently charged with three misdemeanors -- driving while intoxicated-second offense, as well as flight to avoid arrest and driving under suspension. She was taken to the Lincoln County jail.
