A Husker huddle

The Nebraska Huskers earned a berth in the NCAA basketball tournament, the NCAA announced on Sunday.

The Huskers (19-12) will travel to San Antonio to play Friday against Baylor (24-11), matching up two of the hottest teams in the country.

Baylor has won 10 of its last 12 games. Nebraska won 10 of its last 13 games, including a 77-68 win over No. 9-ranked Wisconsin to end the regular season.

Nebraska finished fourth in the Big Ten, one of the best conferences in the country. Only three Big Ten teams finished with less than a .500 season record. (see below)

The Huskers lost Friday in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament, allowing No. 24 Ohio State to overcome an 18-point deficit and edge the Huskers, 71-67.

In other good Husker athletic news during the weekend, the No. 9 Nebraska women’s gymnastics team captured a share of the regular-season Big Ten conference title Saturday.
