The Hershey volunteer fire department will celebrate its centennial anniversary on March 30 with an all-you-can-eat spaghetti feed.
The meal begins at 11 a.m. at the Hershey school cafeteria and continues until 2 p.m. Freewill donations are requested. Centennial memorabilia coins will be available for $10.
Last year, the volunteers answered 108 calls, and the department answered 135 calls in 2012.
Currently, the department has one opening for a member on the fire department and need more medical volunteers, as well, spokesman Tyrel Fear said.
The newly arrived centennial year addition to the department’s equipment is a 2014 Ford F-550 grass rig that replaced the department’s 1990 Dodge grass rig, which was sold to a fire department in Wyoming.
