Police went to a home in the 1300 block of East 15th around noon Tuesday to check out a report of a 31-year-old woman being held at gunpoint.
Initially, a third party caller called police, but an investigator spoke with the alleged female victim on the phone during the incident. The woman told police that Jamie Vancura, 36, was preventing her from leaving the house. She said he had a handgun and threatened to harm her.
Neighbors told the Bulletin that several police officers arrived at the house around 12:30 p.m. Some of them carried assault rifles. Police were able to resolve the incident without injury or harm to anyone, police spokesman Rodney Brown said.
Brown said Vancura was taken into custody without further incident.
The house is on a back lot on East 15th, with an entrance on 14th.
Vancura was jailed, charged with felony terroristic threats, first-degree false imprisonment and possession of a deadly weapon by convicted felon.
A search warrant was issued for the house, where investigators found methamphetamine. The alleged firearm was not found. A North Platte fire truck was also called to the scene.
Vancura was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and he is held on $250,000 bond.
