The Lincoln County and North Platte Visitor's Center will oversee the distribution of 125,000 rack cards and brochures in Nebraska and surrounding states, touting North Platte to tourists.

Tourism director Lisa Burke explained the annual project Monday to the Lincoln County Commissioners. Burke has appeared before the commissioners with the project for nearly a dozen years.

The brochures are 24-page, full color publications, featuring the Scouts Rest Ranch, Cody Park, the Golden Spike and many other attractions, including all the restaurants and bars in Lincoln County.

The cards and brochures are distributed in Lincoln, Omaha and Kansas City, as well as along tourism routes in Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska, Burke said.

Distribution of the cards and brochures will cost slightly more than $17,000, she said.

The commissioners unanimously approved the program, 3-0.
