Lincoln County Historical Museum Director Jim Griffin will explain World War II uniforms at the North Platte Public Library at noon on March 21. Many of us have an old uniform in our closet from a parent or grandparent, but are not sure what it all means. This program will help understand the medals, ribbons, patches, and uniform types used by the Army, Navy, and Marines during World War II.
In addition, there will be uniforms on display, including an original bomber crew flight suit. If you bring a World War II uniform to the program, Griffin will help with identification after the talk, organizers say.
This program is part of a series of talks at the library coinciding with this year’s One Book-One Nebraska selection, Once Upon a Town by Bob Greene.
This program is free to the public but seating is limited. Call the library at 308-535-8036 to reserve a seat. Attendees are welcome to bring their own lunch. Water and coffee will be provided.
