The North Platte metal band, Surveying the Damned, released an EP Saturday, March 8.

Surveying the Damned has been together for more than a year. The EP is called "The Pattern."

Guitarist Larry Sandoval and vocalist John Hunt formerly comprised the core of Sins of the Father. Bass player Jen Hunt has joined in this endeavor, her first band. Tomlinson comes from the punk scene in Denver and Omaha.

Their EP was recorded at the Plan C studio in Lincoln. The price is $3.

The band has played Sculley’s Shooters, Copperfield’s and Duggans in Lincoln, among other places. Their next shows are March 21 at Shamrock’s and March 23 at Hideout, both in Omaha, drummer James Tomlinson said.
