Latosha M. Ryan
On Sept. 4, a police officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy pickup for not displaying license plates.
The driver, Latosha Ryan, 26, was operating the truck under a suspended license. She also had two active Lincoln County warrants.
A search of Ryan turned up a glass pipe with white powder residue. Later, test results from the Nebraska State Patrol Crime Lab indicated the presence of methamphetamine.
On March 4, Ryan was again stopped for a traffic offense. This time, she was charged and jailed for possession of a controlled substance.
A 16-year old boy was charged Monday with first-degree sexual assault for incidents that are said to have happened nearly two years ago.
Police spokesman Rodney Brown said information came forward on Jan. 16 that a 12-year old girl was sexually assaulted sometime in early summer 2012 by a juvenile who is now 16.
Although not related, the two lived in the same home. The victim, who was 11 at the time, was interviewed at the Bridge of Hope advocacy center and said that the boy, who was 14 then, sexually assaulted her.
On Feb. 3, a police investigator met the boy and cited him for first-degree sexual assault. He was processed and released at the Lincoln County Jail for the felony charge.
