Art venture set with Girl ScoutsTell North Platte what you think

Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska hosts "artVenture," in which Girl Souts work closely alongside artists to create an original work of art, from conception through completion, in the medium of her choice.

The original pieces are then displayed at a silent auction, from which all proceeds benefit Girl Scout programs in North Platte.

Artists can participate by donating artwork where proceeds can be split up to 50/50 between the artist and Girl Scouts, said spokeswoman Sandy Nelson, as well as by collaborating with Girl Scouts.

In 2013, more than 102 girls and 29 artists participated in the North Platte event. This year, it will be held from 2-4 p.m. April 14 at the Holiday Inn Express. Tickets are $12 per individual or $20 per couple. Families are welcome.

For additional information on artVenture, contact the Guiding Start Service Center at 800- 458-4467 or Jennifer Schall by email at jschall@girlscoutsnebraska.org.
