Turkey hunting workshop in North PlatteTell North Platte what you think

A seminar for beginners to experienced turkey hunters will be held Thursday, March 13, in North Platte.

Nebraska Game and Parks Conservation Officer Brian Piernicky, Public Information Officer Julie Geiser and hunter and outdoorsman Russ Tobey will give a presentation about hunting spring turkeys from 6-8 p.m. at the Nebraska Game and Park Commission office, 301 East State Farm Rd.

The presentation will cover basics for beginning turkey hunting – biology, scouting, equipment and advanced hunting techniques. The free workshop is open to all ages and skill levels.

Other seminars will be at Chadron, Ponca, Louisville, Gretna and Lincoln and will also require registration at huntsafenebraska.org.

The Nebraska archery turkey season for begins March 25. Youth shotgun season begins April 5, followed by the general shotgun season starting April 12. The seasons close May 31.
