North Platte resident Santos Polanco, 48, was intoxicated and combative late Saturday morning when police arrived in the 800 block of East Ninth to help the North Platte Fire Department with a reported rescue.

Polanco threatened to shoot a police officer and he ended up in jail, held on $100,000 bond.

According to the police report, officers tried to help Polanco first, but he threatened to shoot them although he did not have a weapon.

Polanco was charged with obstructing a police officer and taken to the Lincoln County Jail.  At the jail, he caused more trouble, assaulting a correctional officer that resulted in minor injury, earning him an extra charge, according to police.
