‘Create a Canvas’ painting classes offeredTell North Platte what you think

The historic Prairie Arts Center

The Prairie Arts Center announces two new painting classes for children.

“Create a Canvas” is a one-session class when students create a themed painting, ready to take home. All materials are provided for the artists. The instructor will be artist Kathy Wiede. The theme will be “Sonny Sunshine.”

The classes will be from 9:30 a.m.-noon on:

• March 15 for grades kindergarten, first, second and third.

• March 29 for grades four, rive and six.

Organizers ask you to arrive 15 minutes early to prepare for class.

Also, there are still a few opening for a 6:30-9:30 p.m. class on March 20 -- “Magic Paper Collage” taught by Sandy Meyer.

All classes will be at the Prairie Arts Center, Fifth and Jeffers. Enter at the northwest door to access the studio level.

Children “Create a Canvas” classes cost $25 for Creativity Unlimited Arts Council members and $30 for non-members. Adult classes cost $35 for members, or $40 for non-members.

To get class discounts and support the Prairie Arts Center, join Creativity Unlimited Arts Council. Individual yearly dues are $25, or $40 for the family.
