The North Platte St. Patrick's boys defeated Hayes Center Friday, 59-29.

The Irish jumped out to a 19-5 lead in the first quarter and expanded their lead through the third quarter.

"We ran into a buzz saw," Hayes Center coach Louis Cuellar said. "They did a tremendous job of taking us out of the game from the tipoff."

Alex Harms scored 20 points to lead St. Pat's' offense. Mark Mayfield chipped in 9 points and Bryce Byrn, 8.

Zach Cook was the leading Hayes Center scorer with 12 points.
