The breakfast will be from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Eagles Club on 620 N. Chestnut.

Evans, the father of two, was injured June 7 when he and his family were at Lake McConaughy with friends camping.

One of their friends was floating on an air mattress in shallow water and Evans decided to jump over her to splash her. He landed on his head on the other side of her in shallow water, a family member said. He fractured his C6 vertebra and was paralyzed. He was airlifted to Scottsbluff for surgery and later transported to Craig Hospital in Denver for recovery and rehabilitation.

Three months later Welch returned home and started the road to recovery. He was told it would be a long and painful process. The fundraiser will held help raise money for expenses.

Evans is the father of two young children. He is struggling with burdens physically, emotionally and financially, friends said. A few months before his accident, Travis lost his mother and is living alone.

Breakfast Includes: pancakes, sausage and scrambled eggs. There will also be a silent auction and bake sale. Tickets at the door will be $6 for adults and children $5.

The facebook page called “Prayers for Travis” provides updates on his progress. The family asks for prayers, good wishes and donations.
