Major meth supplier gets 24 years in prisonTell North Platte what you think

A major meth dealer who was distributing drugs in Lincoln and eastern Nebraska was sentenced Thursday to more than 24 years in federal prison.

Ramon Garcia, also known as, Jose Alionso Meza Lopez and also known as Victor Hugo Lopez, was responsible for 45 pounds of methamphetamine brought to and distributed in Lincoln and eastern Nebraska areas from February to October.

Garcia pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute on Nov. 12, U.S. Attorney Deb Gilg said.

According to court records, Garcia was the supervisor and manager of two couriers who drove Garcia’s vehicles between Phoenix and Lincoln, carrying methamphetamine and cash. They made approximately 19 round trips during 2013.

His sentence was enhanced because he rented a home and garage at 3718 J Street in Lincoln, which he used exclusively to load, unload and hide cars that transported drugs and cash, Gilg said.

Garcia was arrested on Oct. 22 as he was about to exchange a car containing $10,000 in cash for one that had just been driven from Phoenix and contained about four pounds of methamphetamine, Gilg said.

The  FBI and the Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force investigated the case.
