A North Platte driver allegedly hit four other vehicles early Saturday morning as he was leaving a house on the south side of town.
Michael Cantu, 24, was cited for four counts of leaving the scene of a property accident, as well as driving under suspension and without insurance.
Police went to a backyard in the 3600 block of S. Willow around 2:40 a.m. Saturday. The complainant said that Cantu left the home and as he drove away in his 2003 Chevy pickup, he hit four parked vehicles.
Police could not determine the exact path of the pickup when it hit a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix and 2004 Ford F-150, however, the Ford pickup appeared to have been hit first, according to a police report. Cantu then exited southbound and hit two other vehicles -- a 2011 Chevy Cruz and a 1993 Buick Skylark.
Police found Cantu and his pickup parked behind Keith’s Body Shop and determined there was probable cause to cite an intoxicated Cantu for four counts of leaving a property accident scene, driving without insurance and driving under suspension.
However, due to the time lapse, Cantu was not charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. His bond was set at $2,500.
Each of the vehicles were damaged to the tune of $2,500 or more, according to the police report.
