Fans cheer their favorite wrestlers.

The Hershey high school gymnasium was packed Friday-Saturday for the Class C4 district wrestling meet.

Wrestlers competed from Ainsworth, Bayard, Bridgeport, Chase County, Gordon-Rushville, Hershey, Kearney Catholic, Kimball, Loomis/Bertrand, Minden, Mitchell, Southern Valley, Ord, Ravenna, Sargeant/Burwell and Valentine schools.

More than 150 wrestlers in 14 weight classes from the 16 schools vied for the opportunity to advance to the Class C Nebraska State Wrestling tournament.

Preliminary rounds were held Friday afternoon. followed by the finals on Saturday. 

The top four finishers in each weight class qualified to compete at the state meet.
At the end of the day, two wrestlers from Hershey High School qualified. pound weight class.

Tucker Hicks won second place in and qualified in the 106-pound division.  

Chayton Crow fought his way back from the loser's bracket to qualify, capturing fourth place in the 138-pound weight division.

The qualifiers will compete at state Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 20-22 at the Omaha Quest Center.
