Color Dash 5K - discounted registration Tell North Platte what you think

A colorful 5K is coming to North Platte May 18, but the early-bird discounted registration deadline is Feb. 18.

At the beginning of the Color Dash, runners are "fresh and clean like the first Nebraska snow" and at each kilometer they get annihilated with a colorful shower of powder, organizer Muriel Clark said.

Early-bird registrants can save $5. Teams of 3-6 runners can save $5 on each registration, resulting in a significant savings for families.

the Color Dash starts at the south campus of the North Platte Community College, then west on State Farm, north on Echo, east on Walker and south on Willow back to the campus.

The race will start at 2 p.m. and the final color blast will be at 3:30 p.m. The Color Dash will bring a burst of colors to get your fitness season off to an energized start. Clark said.

Dashers can register online at http://thecolordash5k.com.

The Color Dash is a non-competitive 5k run/walk. Proceeds will go to the North Platte Area Sports Commission, an organization that is committed to bringing more fun, competitive and non-competitive sporting events to the North Platte area.

Volunteers are needed to ensure that the event runs smoothly. Anyone interested in helping, should contact Ginger Ady at gady@visitnorthplatte.com or 308-532-4729.
