Hollis Littlefield, 35, and Matthew Clinton, 19, were charged Tuesday with more thefts, this time involving guns and other items allegedly stolen from a pickup parked at the Game & Parks Commission district headquarters, 301 E State Farm Rd.
The two men were previously arrested Feb. 5 for theft and criminal mischief at DJ Auto and Transmissions, 203 Rodeo Rd. Police believe they broke out the windows of vehicles parked at the repair shop and stole items inside.
Police spokesman Rodney Brown said investigators later found more stolen property at Littlefield’s home in the 1400 block of W. 14th that was reported missing by a 56-year-old man.
The man told police that a set of golf clubs, two firearms, fishing poles plus several knives were apparently stolen on Jan. 29 from a pickup parked at the G&P headquarters. The estimated value of the items was around $1,375.
Both Littlefield and Clinton have been in the Lincoln County Jail since the alleged thefts at DJ Auto Transmission.
Also, Littlefield was also charged with another crime -- possession of stolen firearms, a .22 rifle Marlin lever action model 57 and a Remington 870 Express Magnum 12g shotgun.
Brown said Littlefield got rid of the guns and neither gun had been located as of Wednesday morning.
