Six stores fail alcohol compliance checksTell North Platte what you think

The Nebraska State Patrol conducted compliance checks at 25 retail outlets in Dawson and Gosper Counties Saturday.

On Saturday, Feb. 8, four businesses in Dawson County and two businesses in Gosper County were found to be non-compliant after selling alcohol to a minor. The retail outlets that were checked included convenience, liquor and grocery stores, as well as restaurants and bars, NSP spokeswoman Deb Collins said.

Periodic compliance checks are made to see ifbusinesses are complying with alcohol laws and minimum age requirements, in order to decrease youth access to alcohol.

Also the Nebraska State Patrol conducted high visibility patrols in the area and made 11 contacts with drivers. Citations and warnings were issued for speeding, no proof of insurance, no registration, and improper passing, Collins said.

Compliance checks in Dawson and Gosper Counties were paid for in part by an $880 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety, Collins said.
