One day before her 24th birthday, Nicholle Taulborg was sentenced Monday to for 2-6 years in the Women’s Correctional Center in York for attempted possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

Taulborg was also sentenced to 1-3 years for possession of meth, but the sentences will run concurrently. Taulborg was jailed on May 29. She was later released to enter the drug court program – a two-year rehabilitation program -- but she failed that and returned to jail.

Lincoln County District Judge Donald Rowlands handed down the sentence.

In other district court sentences:

Chelsey Mackey, 19, of Ogallala, was sentenced to 18 months probation after pleading guilty to attempted 2nd degree assault for breaking the ankle and leg of a North Platte police officer.

Mackey was originally charged with aggravated assault of a police officer and criminal mischief.

A presentence investigation report recommended she be placed on probation.

Mackey was arrested on April 12 at the Behavioral Health unit of Great Plains Regional Medical Center after police answered a call about a combative, out of control woman. When officers tried to restrain Mackey in the emergency room, she fought back, In the resulting meleee, an officer broke his ankle and leg bones.

According to North Platte Police Officer Christopher Ablard, he and Officer Meyer arrived at the hospital to find Mackey beating on the inside of a security door. One of her hands was bloody and the other was wrapped in a towel. When he and Meyer entered Mackey made a “come on” gesture toward them.

Ablard said he and Meyer took hold of Mackey’s arms to control her but she continued to fight. A hospital security guard joined in, along with a doctor and a nurse. In the process, Meyer yelled in pain and said “my ankle is hurt.” Ablard said Meyer’s ankle was turned 90 degrees from normal, no doubt injured. He said Mackey finally calmed down and was secured to a bed.

It was never determined if Mackey directly injured Meyer or if another person involved in the scuffle had fallen on Meyer’s leg.

Other sentences:

• Taylor McGlothlin, 21, of North Platte, was sentenced to 120 days with credit for 55 days already served on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and resisting arrest.

• Donna Davis, 45, of North Platte received a sentence of 60 days in the county jail with credit for 17 days on a conviction of third offense shoplifting. Davis has prior convictions from March 2011 and June 2012.
