Eugene P. Grenier
A North Platte man was jailed early Wednesday, charged with assaults and burglary at the home of his former domestic partner. North Platte police spokesman Rodney Brown said police got the call around 3 a.m. from the 100 block of E. 8th Street.
A 34-year-old woman said former domestic partner Eugene Grenier, 32, came into her home and shoved both her and her 56-year-old mother to the ground. She said Grenier also hit the younger woman several times on her head with his shoe.
She told police that Grenier destroyed several items in the home, including a television, wooden hutch, Blu-Ray player and personal decorative items.
The damage was estimated around $1,100.
Two children, ages 10 and 13, were there and witnessed the violence, Brown said.
Grenier, who was no longer at the residence, turned himself in to the police.
He was jailed, charged with an array of crimes -- burglary, second-degree domestic assault, criminal mischief, third-degree assault and two counts of child abuse.
Grenier is also charged with failure to appear and writing a bad check.
