Schrader is also charged with one felony count of cruelty toward a child as well as five counts of possessing child pornography.

In the same case, Schrader’s partner, Julia Thiemann, 32, of North Platte was arraigned for possession of child pornography and sexual assault of a child.

The couple were arrested Dec. 16. They both face possible life in prison.

Schrader’s bond was lowered from $500,000 to $250,000. Thiemann’s bond is still at $500,000, until her preliminary hearing, when a judge will hear any requests to lower it.

Other proceedings

• Thomas Edward Barnes, 41, of North Platte, was scheduled for a contested preliminary hearing on third-degree sexual assault of a child. Barnes was brought over from the jail to the county courtroom and said he decided to waive the preliminary hearing.

His case was bound over to district court. His bond was lowered by half, to $25,000.

Barnes was arrested Dec. 5.

• Stefan D. Arensdorf, 26, of North Platte, was convicted of obstructing a police officer and disturbing the peace.

Arensdorf accepted a deal and pled guilty to amended charges of obstructing a police officer and disturbing the peace. In return, an assault charge was dropped and a criminal mischief charge was lowered to disturbing the peace.

Arensdorf was sentenced to 18 months probation.

According to Deputy Lincoln County Attorney Jennifer Wellan, police officers were responding to a disturbance call when they encountered Arensdorf, who was very intoxicated. He resisted arrest to the point that a taser was used to subdue him.

• Trevor Perry, 29, of North Platte, facing charges of domestic assault and violation of probation. His case was continued until March 27.

Perry was charged with child abuse in May in the drowning of Landon Schroeder, 3, who eventually recovered. A week later when Perry was out on bond, he allegedly bit his 61-year-old step-mother when she took away his car keys.

He has been in jail for 238 days since then, held on $250,000 bond.

• Tyler Bornsen, 18, of North Platte, waived his preliminary hearing on first-degree assault and his case was bound over to district court. His bond was lowered from $25,000 to $12,500.

• Derrick L. Zalud, 21, of North Platte, pled guilty to first offense driving under the influence of alcohol. He was fined $500, lost his license for 60 days and was put on nine months probation.

• Philip Jerome Perez, 31, of North Platte, accused of vehicle theft, possession of a controlled substance and 4th offense driving under suspension saw his case continued for one week. His bond remains at $25,000.
