Jennifer Noffsinger, 35, of North Platte, was charged Tuesday in Lincoln County Court Tuesday with possession of a stolen weapon.

Noffsinger faces up to five years imprisonment if convicted.

On New Year’s Day, the North Platte police received a reported theft in the 1500 block of N. Sherman. The alleged victims said a shotgun and some other items were taken from their home while they were out of town.

They told police that Noffsinger, a relative of theirs, had permission to be in the home for a short time about the time the items came up missing.

During the investigation it was discovered that Noffsinger had allegedly sold a shotgun to another individual that resembled the description of the stolen gun.

The victims identified the gun as the same one that disappeared. Noffsinger was arrested Monday. North Platte Police Officer John Deal said other items are still missing, so the investigation continues.

Noffsinger faces up to five years imprisonment if convicted. She told the court that she lives on alimony. Lincoln County Judge Michael Piccolo told her to arrange for an attorney unless her financial situation requires a public defender.

Her bond was set at $10,000.
