Basketball: Lady Dawgs over ColumbusTell North Platte what you think

COLUMBUS-The North Platte High School girls' basketball team defeated Columbus 43-38 on Saturday.

"It was a defensive struggle," NPHS coach Mark Woodhead said. "We didn't play as well as we should have but we survived."

The Lady Dawgs, who are now 5-1 and off to its best start in four years, were led by Sally Hengen with 16 points. The 5-foot-8 senior had several crucial baskets in the second half as the Lady Bulldogs held off the Discoverers (1-5).
