BB: Sutherland girls win twoTell North Platte what you think

The Sutherland girls basketball team scored 21 points in the opening quarter Saturday on their way to dominating Bridgeport.

Sutherland scored 19 points in the second period led at halftime, 40-16.

The final score was 56-28.

Jalyne Schuster led the Sailors’ offense with 21 points. Teammate Sam Staggs had 10 points, six rebounds and two assists. Kaley Stokey had contributed three steals, five assists and three rebounds.

The Sailors won two games during the weekend, beating Ogallala convincingly on Friday, 48-29. In that game, Sutherland got out to a 24-16 lead at halftime, then posted 15 more points in the third quarter while holding the Indians to seven.

Schuster scored 26 points against Ogallala, and she also had seven steals, five rebounds and five assists. Staggs chipped in 9 points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists.

Bridgeport; 8-8-8-4 - 28
