Darrell Lewis, 22, is in jail on a $100,000 bond, charged with hitting his domestic partner several times with a piece of wood. Lewis allegedly used a large dowel to hit the 24-year-old woman multiple times about the arms and head after an argument, police spokesman Rodney Brown said.
Dowels are solid, cylindrical shaped rods. Among other uses, they can be used as supports to hang clothes, key rings, tools, toilet paper dispensers and picture frames.
The woman also said Lewis threw a standard, 8” kitchen knife at her after he used it to stab her personal belongings.
Police responded to the report in the 1100 block of East 11th, Brown said.
Lewis is charged with felony terroristic threats, use of a weapon to commit a felony and third-degree assault–domestic.
