An Omaha mother is frantically reaching out to find her missing teenager without success.

Madison "Maddy" Pacheco, 16, has been missing since Dec. 7. She has connections to North Platte.

Her worried mother has contacted police and spread the word through every media possible. Thousands of facebook messages have been sent.

Pacheco was last seen Saturday in Omaha. Her mother thought she might have run to North Platte, which is where her grandparents Fran and Ed Pacheco and her father Mitch Pacheco live.

Police are treating her disappearance as a runaway, but her mother is not convinced.

“We are not sure of anything at this point,” Kim Reich Streit said Tuesday afternoon.

On Wednesday, Reich-Streit told the Bulletin she was informed by friends and acquaintances about some phone calls from an unidentified number on Tuesday, but nothing came of it. She said Wednesday she has no more information. She fears the worst, that her daughter has been abducted.

Pacheco has brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5'8" tall and weighs 180 pounds. She is a student at Northwest High School and was last seen around 156th and Center in Omaha.

Anyone with information can reach family members through the Facebook page Facebook.com/whereismaddy, or by contacting the Omaha Police, or by calling Kim at 402-403-2362.

Despite her disappearance, an Amber Alert was not been issued.

“There are strict guidelines law enforcement has to follow in order to be able to use an Amber alert,” a family member wrote on Facebook. “She has to have been abducted and we have to have a description of the perpetrator. We can’t prove either.”

This report was updated Wednesday afternoon.
