Mail: Marijuana controls children's siezuresTell North Platte what you think

Thank you for the article on marijuana. It came at the perfect time. I have been looking for an organization to discuss this with.

I will be contacting the National Organization for Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML.)

As you may know, medical marijuana is used for kids to treat seizures. There is a great documentary, Weed, by CNN's chief medical correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

There is an extract from the plant that is stopping seizures in kids that are uncontrolled by pharmaceuticals. It is made from a plant that has very low THC, the part that makes you high.

Unfortunately, Colorado is the only state where this is available. Hundreds of families across the U.S. are making the pilgrimage to Colorado looking for a cure.

My daughter suffers from uncontrolled seizures. We are looking into leaving our home in North Platte and our entire support system here to try this new medicine. If we make this move, we will be "stuck" in Colorado, unable to leave the state with an extract from an illegal plant, or we can be arrested.

Also, at this time, it is not covered by insurance.

Check out the documentary and look up Realm of Caring, the providers of this new treatment. Please help spread the word and tell the story of families like mine.
