Brandon Decent

Police found a boy Thursday who left high school early on Wednesday afternoon and never returned.

Brandon Decent, 12, lives at the Nebraska Youth Center, a home for state wards, and takes classes at the high school.

He was located without incident via a tip to a family member shortly before noon Thursday. He will be placed back at the youth center, police spokesman Rodney Brown said.

Decent was reported missing around 3 p.m. Wednesday. He reportedly walked away from the school shortly after 2 p.m.

Decent receives schooling through the T.I.E.S Program, which is held at the high school. The program is primarily for high schoolers but a few middle school students attend, Brown said.
