The cold front arrived Tuesday afternoon and temperatures continued to sink through Wednesday.

A bitter north northwest wind reached 20 miles an hour Tuesday night, with gusts as high as 30 mph, the weather service said, while the overnight temperature dipped to the low teens.

The intense cold remained all day Wednesday, as daytime high temperatures stayed in the teens and the wind continued at 17-28 mph.

On Wednesday night, the wind chill dropped as low as 30 degrees below zero, the weather service said, causing frost bite within 30 minutes to exposed skin.

The temperature will remain between zero and the upper teens throughout the week, but the wind should diminish Thursday afternoon.

There is a chance of snow again on Saturday and Sunday.
