It was not a good Thanksgiving for a North Platte woman who backed into the homeless shelter.

Connie Boss, 52, spent the weekend in jail.

At around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the Lincoln Connection, 414 E. Sixth St. on the report of a vehicle striking and damaging the building.

was backing a 1997 Ford pickup from a parking spot at the Lincoln Connection. She backed to close to the building and hit a window next to the entrance door, police said.

The officer spoke with Boss, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

The officer believed she had probable cause to search Boss and her belongings, which turned up the prescription drug Vicodin, for which Boss did not have a prescription.

Boss was jailed, charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence of drugs (second offense).
