The annual Festival of Trees opens Friday at the Quality Inn and Suites to raise money for the Miss Nebraska Scholarship Fund and the Children's Miracle Network.

The trees will be displayed Friday from 10 a.m.3 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Miss Nebraska Jaycee Pilkington will be at festival Sunday from 1:30-3:30 p.m., singing and signing autographs.

The doors will open at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Participants have created decorations and trimmed Christmas trees and wreaths in vibrant themes, organizers say.

The trees are displayed through Sunday, when the festival concludes at 4 p.m. with an auction of the trees and wreaths.

The Quality Inn and Suites/Sandhill Convention Center is at 2102 S. Jeffers.
