A North Platte man was jailed Saturday for two assault charges as well as a charge of false imprisonment, all in the same incident. The charges are all class I misdemeanors.
Police spokesman Rodney Brown said police responded around 11:30 a.m. Saturday to a reported assault on a 24-year-old woman.
The woman told police that during the early morning hours her domestic partner, Matthew Meyer, 28, assaulted her in a domestic dispute and would not allow her to leave their home in the 400 block of So. Willow.
The woman said Meyer pushed himself against her in an unwanted sexual manner, and at one point he forced her outside, but followed her and assaulted her again.
Police determined that there was probable cause to charge Meyer with third-degree domestic assault, third-degree sexual assault and second-degree false imprisonment.
Meyer's bond was set at $20,000. He paid the required 10 percent after serving a day in jail, according to sheriff's records
