Friday, Nov. 8

• North Platte Public Library (120 W. Fourth) — Brown bag luncheon with author Barbara Eymann Mohrman. "The Divine Wind" follows four boys from the Dust Bowl to WWII. Noon. No charge. Seating limited, call library to reserve.

• Lincoln County Historical Museum (2403 N. Buffalo Bill Ave.) - Canteen coffee and meal. Recipes from Canteen cookbook will be served. Live music, dress in 40s style. 5:30-7:30 p.m. $20.

• The Depot Restaurant - Live acoustic dinner music by Blue Swing. 7-9 p.m.

• A to Z Books - 7-10:30 p.m. Open Mic Nite. Established performers and newcomers. Free-will donation. Refreshments provided or bring your own.

• Sculley’s Shooters (2221 E. Fourth) - Live music featuring Driving Dynamics. Starts 9 p.m. Cover charge.

• The Bar in Sutherland - Live Music by Innocent Mischief. 9-1.


Saturday, Nov. 9

• Art and Gift Gallery (downtown 516 N. Dewey) - Youth art show opens. 10 a.m.

• Platte River Mall, 1000 S. Dewey- Junk to Funk art show. Turning junk into funky art pieces, furniture, sculpture, jewelry or more for recycle or repurpose. 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

• Sutherland Legion Hall (130 S. Maple St.) – BBQ dinner, 5-7 p.m. Donations welcome. Silent auction.

• Lincoln County Historical Museum (2403 N. Buffalo Bill Ave.) - Canteen coffee and meal, for second time. Noon. Meal from Canteen cookbook will be served. Live music, dress in 40s style. $20.

• VFW - Ray Mullen's country music. 7-10 p.m. Free will donation.

• Episcopal Church of Our Savior (203 West 4th St.) - Free public concert by Ray Johnston, Canon Musician at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral in Minneapolis, to celebrate rebuilding of pipe organ. 7 p.m. Wine and cheese reception follows.

• Sculley’s Shooters (2221 E. 4th) – live music by The Driving Dynamics. 9 p.m.-midnight. Cover charge.


Sunday, Nov. 10

• North Platte Senior Center - Cream can dinner, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. $7 meal. Lunch music by Nicole Hardy and Family. Dance at 2:30 p.m. with music by Rascal. Freewill donation for dance. Fundraiser for meals for seniors.

• Butch's Steakhouse (121 West 1st St.in Hershey) - Community Volunteer Appreciation of Hershey's safety during the recent flood emergency. 12-2 pm.


Monday, Nov. 11

• Downtown North Platte - Annual Veterans Day parade. 4-5 p.m. Floats, scouts and vehicles parade north along the bricks of Dewey St. and return on Bailey St.

• Hershey Legion Hall, Hershey - Ham and bean supper, 6–7 p.m. sponsored by Ladies Auxiliary. Freewill donation.

• St. Pat's High School - Dinner and a one-act play, “Jack Boy.” Dinner at 6:30 p.m. $10 adults, $6 for children. Show only, $4.


Friday, Nov. 15

• Great Western Bank ( 111 So. Dewey) – Business after hours. Socializing, food, refreshments. 5-7 p.m. Admission $1 plus business card.

• Sculley’s Shooters (2221 E. Fourth) - Live rock music by The Innocence. Starts 9 p.m. Cover charge.
