Mail: Donna's dinner continues, help appreciatedTell North Platte what you think

The holidays are rapidly approaching and with that comes Donna’s Community Christmas Dinner.

For more than 10 years, Donna Girty-Cross has provided a free holiday dinner for the community, serving over 500 meals.

Even though Donna has moved from North Platte, her vision of a community dinner continues. This year the dinner will again be held at Harvest Christian Fellowship’s North West campus gymnasium, 2607 Rodeo Road, from 2-6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6.

Just as Donna has done for many years, we will be serving a turkey dinner with all the trimmings.

Santa is due to arrive around 5 p.m. and there will be entertainment throughout the afternoon.

This free dinner is possible only with the donations and volunteers from North Platte and the surrounding area. If you would like to contribute, either through a financial donation or with volunteer help on the day of the dinner, you may call me at 308-534-4563.

Donations may be mailed to 1501 S. Dewey; please mark your donation “Donna’s Dinner.”

We hope that you will partner with us as we continue Donna’s tradition of a Christmas dinner for our community.
