A drunk driver was jailed overnight Thursday after he apparently drove into a house in Brady at 1:40 a.m. that morning.

Christopher Ahola, 33, failed to turn a corner in a 1993 Suburban, slid across an intersection, through the yard and into the house, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said. A rescue crew was called to help two people out of the house who were partially trapped inside.

Ahola’s blood alcohol content tested nearly two times the legal limit, the sheriff said.

The wreck occurred at 318 East Commercial St. in Brady. Ahola is from Gothenburg.

No injuries were reported, the sheriff said.

In court Friday, Ahola was formally charged with driving under the influence. No other charges were filed. His bond was set at $2,500. He paid the required 10 percent of his bond shortly afterwards and was released.
