Lincoln County has again been challenged by Adams County to fill the food banks and see which county can get the most food donations.
It is the fifth annual food drive challenge between the two counties. A comparable number of counties in Kansas have joined the challenge too, organizer Tammy White said.
White urges readers to join the counties of Nebraska in beating Kansas in a very worthy endeavor.
Either non-perishable items or cash will be accepted. Cash will be donated to food pantries to help fill the need. Every dollar given will count toward four food items.
The contest began Monday and continues until Nov. 22.
Items can be dropped off at the Lincoln County Courthouse. Cash may be given to White in the Commissioner’s Office or to Lois Block, the Register of Deeds.
