Cross country: Irish boys' 12th at stateTell North Platte what you think

KEARNEY-The St. Pat's boys' cross country team finished in 12th place in Class D on Friday at the Nebraska State Meet at the Kearney Country Club.

Crofton won the state title with three runners in the top 20.

At state, the Irish were led by Brandon Adkins and Merritt Eastman, who finished in 38th and 39th, respectively. Adkins, a senior, finished at 18 minutes and 48 seconds. Eastman, a sophomore, was 1.4 seconds behind.

Justin Gafke (115th place), Sam Bradney (126), Jared Brosius (127) and Jared Gafke (137) also competed at state for St. Pat's.

In the girls' race, junior Anna O'Malley finished in an impressive sixth place.

O'Malley toured the course at 20:23.4. As a sophomore, she finished 17th at state and as a freshman, she was 13th.

O'Malley was the only Lady Irish runner to qualify.
