Walker and Groopman

Hailing from the San Francisco Bay area and the Blue Ridge Mountains, respectively, singer-songwriter Melody Walker and picker Jacob Groopman will perform Monday night downtown at A to Z Books.

The duo has fused their influences into a musical style they like to call “Americali.”

According to promoters, they draw from diverse genres provocative songwriting yet stay close to their American folk roots.

The duo performed more than 120 shows in 2012 and were contestants at Telluride and RockyGrass, winning with their group called Front Country.

The show starts at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door.

The show is organized by Rob Martinson II of North Platte.
