Felony watch: Arrests for theft, assault, meth Tell North Platte what you think

North Platte police found a trailer Monday that was reported stolen in Hayes County a couple days earlier.

Police went to North Platte Metals around 8 a.m. Monday on the report of a possible stolen trailer. A suspect, Kevin Lantzy, 36, had just left, police spokesman Rodney Brown said, but officers found him at his temporary home in the 100 block of E. Eighth.

Brown said the trailer was reported stolen from Hayes County on Oct. 18. Lantzy is charged with possession of stolen property.

Felony assault

Around 9 p.m. Tuesday, police went to the 300 block of East Ninth to investigate a reported assault.

A 38-year-old woman said that, following an argument, her domestic partner Irvin Taylor, 38, strangled, kicked and hit her multiple times.

Officers found probable cause to arrest Taylor and charge him with felony strangulation and third-degree domestic assault, a class I misdemeanor.

Around 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, police went to the 800 block of N. Bryan on a report of suspicious behavior.

It was not the first time they have had suspicious behavior reports at a house in that area, Brown said.

Officers made contact with two men who were standing near a shed at the rear of the property. One of them, Cody Rogers, 21 of Ogallala, was found with meth and drug paraphernalia. He was charged and arrested.
