Kirsten Collins, 19, of North Platte, was arraigned in Lincoln County Court Monday on charges of 3rd degree assault, strangulation and child abuse.

According to Deputy Lincoln County Attorney Jennifer Wellan, a 14-year-old girl called police just before midnight Friday and said she was punched and strangled by Collins.

The girl said Collins confronted her and some friends about an incident earlier near Fifth and Oak, punched her in the face and choked her.

In September, Collins was charged with aggravated assault after she allegedly tried to run a North Platte high school student down with her car. Police did not say if this girl is the same victim.

Collins paid 10 percent of a $1,500 bond at that time and was released.

This time, her bond is set at $15,000.
